Q: I signed up, but I am not seeing any logs in the system.
A:
You need to send logs from your systems to Inspekt.
Log into your account on the Inspekt web site, and follow the guides for Windows, Linux, or Cisco devices.
Once you start sending logs to Inspekt, they will appear in your Inspekt portal which can be accessed directly from your My Account page.
Q: I want to send data from a device that is not Windows, Linux or Cisco. What do I do?
A: Please see the Advanced subpage on the My Account page for details on how to send logs from any device.
Q: Can I collect the logs locally before sending them to Inspekt?
A:
Yes.
You can either use our forwarder (a virtual machine, downloadable from your My Account page at no cost), or use your own system to collect the logs locally.
If you use our forwarder, the logs are then pre-processed, compressed, and encrypted before being sent to Inspekt.
The forwarder also ensures that logs are buffered locally in case the link to Inspekt is down.
Q: I would like the entire system to run on my own, internal hardware and not in the cloud. Is that possible?
A:
Yes.
We do make custom installations for government, military, and larger companies where the entire cloud infrastructure is created as a range of virtual machines on your own hardware. Contact sales for more details.
Q: What happens to my data if I want to cancel my subscription?
A: We keep your data for 30 days after you end your subscription in case you change your mind. After that, we securely wipe the data, including all backups and mirrors. This often takes a few days to complete. Once this is done, we can no longer retrieve your data even in cases of emergency.
